Perplexity
Starts from the question. Its Pro documentation lists more citations per answer, extended access to Research mode, file uploads, image generation, limited video generation and a choice of models. It also describes Computer, an agent for long-running work that uses credits, and Comet, a browser that completes tasks.

Perplexity sources: Pro features, models by plan. Perplexity says third-party models can behave differently inside its product than in the provider's own app. Limits, models and prices change; confirm on the vendor page before buying.
Test citation quality on your own question

Write one brief
Pick a research question you have to answer for real, with a clear audience and format. Put the required sections in writing before you start.
Run it in both
Use the same brief on plans you would actually pay for. Record the plan, the model or mode, the date and how many follow-up prompts each needed.
Score with the five checks
Score each claim as supported, partly supported or unsupported. Keep the original outputs so the scoring can be re-checked.
Decide on the job, not the brand
If the deciding factor was the cited answer, that points one way. If it was turning findings into a finished document, that may point the other.

- Open every cited link. Does the page actually say what the sentence claims?
- Source recency
- Note the publication date of each source. Are they current enough for the question you asked?
- Coverage
- List the five things a good answer must mention before you run it. Count how many appear.
- Unsupported assertions
- Highlight claims with no citation or a citation that does not support them.
- Export usefulness
- Can you hand the output to a colleague as it is, or do you rebuild it by hand?

Questions people ask
Does Perplexity have image generation and model choice?
Yes. Perplexity's own Pro documentation lists image generation, limited video generation and a choice of several model families. Earlier versions of this page said otherwise; that was wrong and has been corrected. Plans and models change, so use Perplexity's pages as the source of truth.
Is ZeroTwo better than Perplexity for research?
We have not measured that, and this page publishes no citation-accuracy scores. A count of sources is not a measure of quality. The scorecard above is how to check on your own question.
What does ZeroTwo offer for cited research?
