Real-time social context against multi-model work
Grok or ZeroTwo: live X context, or many models in one place?
They are good at different jobs. Grok is the better pick for a question about right now. ZeroTwo is the better pick when the answer has to become a checked document. ZeroTwo publishes this page and sells a competing plan, so read the verdicts as our reading, not as test results.
Grok
Built for what is happening right now
- Searches the web and X live, per xAI's own page
- Free to try on web, iOS and Android
- Paid SuperGrok plans raise limits and add multi-agent mode
ZeroTwo
Built for work that ends in a deliverable
- 60+ models from several providers, xAI's Grok models included
- Connectors, files and agents in one workspace
- Web search on every plan, deep research on paid plans
A correction we made to this page
An earlier version said Grok requires X Premium+. xAI's own pages list Grok as free to try on web, iOS and Android, with paid SuperGrok plans for higher limits. We removed that claim and rebuilt the access and pricing comparison from x.ai/grok and x.ai/pricing, read in October 2026.
Access, plans and price
At the $30 tier the two are within a cent of each other, so choose on what the plan includes, not on the price.

Research: two different jobs
"Research" covers a fast read of live conversation and a slow, sourced report. Each product leans one way.
Grok's lane
Questions about right now
xAI says Grok searches the web and X live. If the question is what people are saying about a launch this afternoon, that is the tool built for it, and ZeroTwo cannot match it without an X connector.
Limits of both
Sources you cannot reach
Posts behind a login, paywalled articles and private files stay out of reach for either tool unless you supply them.
ZeroTwo's lane
Cited reports across providers
Web search, deep research on paid plans, your files and connectors, then the model of your choice to write it. See deep research.
Grok models, inside ZeroTwo
Like the models, want others beside them?
They run as models inside ZeroTwo. Grok's own live X search is part of xAI's app and should not be assumed to carry over.
One workflow that uses both
An illustrative launch-day task, not a measured result. We have not published matched outputs from either tool.
- Grok
Scan the live reaction
Ask what people are saying about the launch right now and keep the links to the posts and pages worth citing.
- ZeroTwo
Bring your own material in
Add those links with your internal notes from Drive or Notion, and ask for a brief that cites each source.
- ZeroTwo
Ask a second model to push back
Run the draft through a different provider's model and ask which claims the sources do not support.
- You
Open every link yourself
Neither tool can read every post or paywalled page. Check that each cited source says what the brief says it does.
Three questions decide it
Is the answer about this hour?
Use Grok. Live web and X search is its stated strength, and ZeroTwo does not list an X connector.
Is the answer a document, a plan or a spreadsheet?
Use ZeroTwo. Files, connectors, agents and a choice of models are what it adds.
Is it both?
Use both: Grok for the fresh signal, ZeroTwo to turn it into a checked deliverable.
Grok questions, answered
Does Grok require X Premium+?
No. xAI's own pages list Grok as free to try on the web and in the iOS and Android apps, and say you can sign in with an X or email account. Paid SuperGrok plans add higher limits. An earlier version of this page said otherwise, and we removed that claim.
Can I use Grok models in ZeroTwo?
Yes. Grok 4.1 Fast, Grok 4.1 Fast R and Grok 4 Fast Reasoning are in ZeroTwo's model catalog and are marked premium, which means a paid plan or purchased credits. They run as models inside ZeroTwo; Grok's own live X search is part of xAI's app.
Can ZeroTwo search X?
We do not list an X connector among ZeroTwo's connectors, so do not assume it. ZeroTwo searches the web with Serper on the Free plan and Exa on paid plans.
Is ZeroTwo cheaper than SuperGrok?
Not at the same tier. xAI lists SuperGrok at $30 a month and ZeroTwo Pro is $29.99, within a cent. ZeroTwo Plus at $14.99 is the cheaper paid step. Compare what each plan includes rather than the price alone.
Is there a free trial of ZeroTwo?
No. ZeroTwo has a Free plan instead, with 100 free credits to start and 20 bonus credits every day you log in. No card is required for the Free plan.
