Best AI apps for iPhone: ten App Store listings compared
Which AI app suits your iPhone depends first on the iOS version it runs, then on the job you want done. We compare what each app's own listing states, and we make one of the ten: ZeroTwo.
The short answer
If you rely on one ecosystem, use that maker's app. If you want several providers' models in one app and your iPhone runs iOS 26.0 or later, ZeroTwo is built for that. On an older iPhone, check the iOS ladder below; ZeroTwo also works in a browser.

Check your iOS version before you choose
The minimum iOS each listing requires, lowest first. Open Settings, General, About to see yours. If you are below an app's bar, it is not an option on that iPhone.

ZeroTwo's listing has the highest bar of the ten. If your iPhone cannot reach it, the ZeroTwo web app runs in a browser, and the download page lists the other platforms.
What the ten listings say
Seller, minimum iOS, download size, in-app purchases and the average rating with its count. The count matters: an average of 4.8 over millions of ratings and 3.7 over three are not the same kind of number.

Test it yourself on your iPhone
Listings do not tell you whether an app plugs into Shortcuts, the Home Screen or your files, and we will not claim that for any app we have not documented. These four checks take a few minutes per app and work for all ten.
Shortcuts and Siri
- Open the Shortcuts app and tap the plus button.
- Choose Add Action and search for the app's name.
- If actions appear, the app exposes them to Shortcuts. If nothing appears, it does not yet.
Widgets
- Touch and hold an empty spot on the Home Screen.
- Tap Edit, then Add Widget, and search for the app.
- Repeat on the Lock Screen. No result means no widget.
Voice and files
- Start a voice conversation and interrupt it mid-answer.
- Attach a PDF from Files and a photo, then ask one question that needs both.
- Note whether each step worked without leaving the app.
Permissions and privacy
- Open Settings and scroll down to the app.
- Look at which permissions it asked for: photos, microphone, contacts, notifications.
- Allow only what the feature you are testing needs, and read the privacy policy.

iPhone AI app questions
Which iPhone do I need to run ZeroTwo?
ZeroTwo's App Store listing says it requires iOS 26.0 or later, the highest requirement of the ten apps compared here (read 5 October 2026). To see your version, open Settings, then General, then About. If your iPhone is on an older version you can still use ZeroTwo in a browser at zerotwo.ai.
Are these iPhone AI apps free?
All ten are free to download. Seven list in-app purchases for paid tiers; Pi, DeepSeek and Meta AI list none. What a free tier includes is set by each maker and changes, so read the plan details in the app before relying on it. ZeroTwo's Free plan starts with 100 free credits, adds 20 bonus credits each day you log in, and has a limited model selection.
Do ZeroTwo's iPhone in-app prices match the pricing page?
Not necessarily. Subscriptions bought inside an iPhone app are priced by that app's App Store in-app purchase list, which can differ from the maker's web prices. Check the in-app purchase list on the ZeroTwo App Store listing before you subscribe there, and compare it with the prices on our pricing page.
Which of these apps has the highest App Store rating?
On the day we checked, Grok showed the highest average (4.9 across about 1.48 million ratings), with ChatGPT and Perplexity at 4.8. Treat that as a popularity signal, not a quality ranking: ratings reflect who chose to rate and how the app prompts for it. ZeroTwo's 3.7 rests on 3 ratings, which is too few to mean much yet.
Can I use ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini in one iPhone app?
ZeroTwo's listing says you can access GPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok, Mistral and DeepSeek models and switch between them per message. The exact models change, so see the models page for what is available now. Poe is another multi-model app; the cross-platform comparison covers it.
Does ZeroTwo support Siri, Shortcuts or Home Screen widgets?
We have not documented that for the ZeroTwo iPhone app, so this page does not claim it. Earlier versions of this page did, without supporting walkthroughs, and we removed those claims. The test-it-yourself section shows how to check any app for Shortcuts actions and widgets in a couple of minutes.
Why is there no ranking of the ten apps?
We publish this page and make one of the apps on it, and we have not run repeatable device tests across all ten. A numbered list would imply a scoring method we do not have. The table shows what the listings state, and the cards say which job each app is built around.
Did you test these apps on an iPhone?
Not side by side. The listing facts were read on 5 October 2026 from Apple's App Store data, and the screenshots on this page come from the ZeroTwo iPhone app. We have not run device tests of the other nine apps, so this page does not rate their speed, voice quality or accuracy.
