Both list no in-app purchases. Read each maker's privacy policy before sharing anything sensitive; we have not assessed either.
Why this page does not rank twelve apps
A fair ranking needs a published scoring method and the same tasks run on every app, with dates. We have not done that for all twelve, and an earlier version of this page implied we had. It also ranked ZeroTwo first on the grounds that it includes other providers' models, which says how many models you can reach, not how well an app does your job.

Another app is the better pick when
- Your work is anchored in one ecosystem. Copilot sits inside Microsoft 365 and Gemini inside Google apps, and a multi-model app cannot replicate that.
- You depend on a feature only one vendor's own app ships. We have not compared ZeroTwo feature by feature with every app here, so check it exists before you cancel anything.
- You want the app with the most reviews. ZeroTwo's iPhone listing is new and had 3 App Store ratings when we checked on 5 October 2026, and it requires iOS 26.0 or later; older iPhones can use ZeroTwo on the web.

Not categories. The actual things you did with AI last week: a client email, a spreadsheet question, a bug.

Confirm the app exists where you work (the table links each store listing) and read the privacy policy before pasting anything sensitive.

Open each app's plan list, total the monthly cost, and compare it with the one subscription you might replace it with.
Questions people ask about AI apps
Which AI app is the best one overall?
There is no single best AI app, because the apps are built around different jobs. Copilot is built around Microsoft 365, Gemini around Google apps, Perplexity around cited search, Claude around writing and coding, and ChatGPT around general chat with voice and images. ZeroTwo is built around using several providers' models in one place. Pick the row in the decision guide that matches how you work, then test it with your own prompts.
Why is there no 1 to 12 ranking or star rating?
A ranking needs a published scoring method and repeatable tests, and we have not run those across all twelve apps. ZeroTwo also publishes this page and makes one of the apps on it, so a numbered list with ZeroTwo near the top would be a conflict of interest we cannot score our way out of. The page shows what we could verify from each app's own store listings, and leaves the judgement to the task you have in mind.
Which of these AI apps are free?
All twelve are free to download from the App Store. Nine list in-app purchases for paid tiers; Pi, DeepSeek and Meta AI list none. What the free tier includes, and what it limits, is set by each maker and changes, so read the plan details in the app or on the maker's site before relying on it. ZeroTwo's Free plan starts with 100 free credits plus 20 bonus credits each day you log in and a limited model selection, with paid plans for more.
Can one app replace several AI subscriptions?
It can if you mainly want access to models from more than one provider. ZeroTwo and Poe are both built around that idea. It will not replace an app whose value is its ecosystem, such as Copilot inside Microsoft 365 or Gemini inside Google apps. Add up what you actually pay across vendors, compare it with ZeroTwo Plus or Pro, and check that the features you use exist in the app before you cancel anything.
Which AI apps work on both iPhone and Android?
We found an App Store listing for all twelve apps and a Google Play listing for eleven of them. We did not find a Google Play listing for Microsoft Copilot in our check, which may reflect our method rather than the app, so look in your own store. Desktop apps vary by maker and are not covered in the table; ZeroTwo runs on the web, iPhone, Android, macOS, Windows and Linux.
Are AI apps safe for private or work documents?
Treat each one as a separate decision. Read the maker's privacy policy, check whether your plan lets you control how chats are used, and avoid pasting confidential material into any app until you have. We have not assessed the privacy practices of the other apps on this list, and the page makes no claim about them.
